Common Sense Solutions for Health
A home remedy that I have seen work really well for Acid Reflux is apple cider vinegar. I don’t want you to use the white vinegar which is the type that you pour on your dog’s urine stains in the carpet, we are looking for raw/organic apple cider vinegar that is typically found in most health food stores and many grocery stores, too. This type of vinegar is usually brown in color, often cloudy, and you can barely see through it. Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) is such a great tonic that can be used in so many different ways. From time to time I will discuss different uses of ACV, but today I will talk about how we use it for Acid Reflux.
Take two tablespoons in eight ounces of water and add a little bit of raw organic honey, if you choose, to make it taste good. If you can do without the honey, that is even better, but most people don’t like the taste of it unless they add the honey. It is recommended to sip it, and not chug it all down at once. If acid reflux is an all day occurrence for you, then you can sip it all day, or have a glass after every meal.
Here is a home remedy that I have not tried but I have patients that have said it works really well. This one kind of grosses me out but is does work.
Pickle juice is the juice that is in your pickle jar!
Pour it into a little shot glass and sip it. Again don’t chug it down. The technique is to sip it and quiet down the acid reflux. There are other things that people use but today I am only sharing two.
Remember that you really need to start looking at your diet. Getting off the refined sugars, grains, and dairy makes a big difference. Get off of all junk food. I always recommend my Quantum Paleo diet, Palaeolithic diet, because it gets results. I think you will start to see real changes on this diet within 21 days. Make sure you stay hydrated, a minimum of 2 liters of water per day will help.
Give some of these things a try and let me know how you do.
